The Notre Dame Prep Saints entered their tilt with the Pinnacle Pioneers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Notre Dame Prep walked away with a 64-52 victory over Pinnacle on Saturday. Given Notre Dame Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Pinnacle is ranked 39th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bryce Quinet continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 35 points along with eight rebounds. The game was his 16th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hayden Stebbins, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, Pinnacle still got an impressive performance from Braylon Johnson, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Johnson scored a full 32.7% of Pinnacle's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Christian Wells was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Notre Dame Prep's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Pinnacle, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.
Notre Dame Prep will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Higley at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. Higley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62 points per game. Pinnacle will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Hopefully Mesa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday.
