The South Windsor Bobcats had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 13-6 victory over RHAM. That result was just more of the same for these two, as South Windsor also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2021.
South Windsor got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mitch Chaves out in front who rushed for 95 yards on only 12 carries, and also threw for 52 yards and a touchdown. Logan Sherwood got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
South Windsor's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.0 points per game. As for RHAM, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
South Windsor will head out on the road to face off against Platt at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Platt is ranked 51st, while South Windsor is ranked 68th). As for RHAM, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bristol Eastern at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
