Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 20 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Rangeview Raiders proved on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 81-37 victory over Westminster on the road. Given Rangeview's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Wolves are ranked 218th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rangeview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kevin Hernandez, who scored 17 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hernandez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Archie Weatherspoon V, who scored 19 points along with two steals.
Westminster's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daigan Gray, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Hunter Goll, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Rangeview has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. As for Westminster, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rangeview will take on the Trojans at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Aurora Central is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.6 points per game this season. As for Westminster, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. George Washington is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
