The Auburn Eagles will take on the Blacksburg Bruins at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Auburn's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Fort Chiswell 15-0. Considering the Eagles have won five matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

McKenzie Booth made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hope Wilson, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ariel Mullins was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three runs.
Auburn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.
Blacksburg never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Patrick Henry on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Patriots.
Like Auburn, Blacksburg also got a great game from a two-way player: Madelyn Williams. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Williams was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Clara McMahon and Aubrey Hudgins did most of the damage at the plate: McMahon went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI, while Hudgins scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Keely Semtner, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Auburn is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Blacksburg, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Both Auburn and Blacksburg just can't seem to miss. The Eagles have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Blacksburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Auburn couldn't quite finish off Blacksburg when the teams last played last Thursday and fell 6-4. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
