The biggest upset of the week belonged to Washington, who took down 191st ranked Washington, 25-9. Daniel Garcia in the win.
Escambia moved up to 235 from 282 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 6A District 1. The Gators were able to make the jump by beating the Wildcats 25-9.
Washington's dynamic duo of Clay Hinton and Javan Williams proved tough for Escambia to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hinton threw for 75 yards and Williams had 62 yards receiving. Antuane Johnson helped Washington's passing attack out by catching one ball for nine yards.
Brice Moore was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 125 yards on 12 carries as Pace lost to Willie Spears' team. Teammate J.c. Curry added to the ground attack by rushing for 90 yards.
The Wildcats' Hinton and Michael Thomas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hinton has thrown for 574 yards this season, while Thomas, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 11 catches for 192 yards. The Gators' Danikeei Hollowell leads the league in rushing yards with 632.
A big matchup in 6A District 1 this week will be when Escambia takes on the Patriots. At the moment, the Gators are in fifth, while Pace is in first.
Milton led the league in scoring this week after putting up 40 points on Tate.
