If the Boulder Panthers were riding high off their 64-28 takedown of the Greeley West Spartans last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Boulder had to suffer through a rough 75-37 loss at the hands of Mullen. Boulder lost against Mullen in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 77-35 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Boulder lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Megan Matthews. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points. Matthews is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Boulder's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Mullen, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Boulder will square off against DSST: Conservatory Green at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. DSST: Conservatory Green comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 11 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Mullen will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Regis Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th.
