Ryle is 0-8 against Campbell County since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Ryle Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the Campbell County Camels at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Ryle beat Scott 75-65. The win was just what Ryle needed coming off of a 77-55 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Campbell County's game on Tuesday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 62-50 win over Simon Kenton. Given Campbell County's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Simon Kenton is ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ryle has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Campbell County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-7.
Ryle suffered a grim 84-60 defeat to Campbell County when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Ryle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
