Baseball Recap: Jeffersonville's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

Jeffersonville fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Seymour on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 14-9 to the Owls. The Red Devils' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Braylen Gray and Cole Singleton stepped up to the plate in a big way. Gray went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Singleton went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Jeffersonville is 3-1 when Gray posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Aidan Toler was another key player, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs.

Jeffersonville's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Seymour, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Jeffersonville will venture away from home to take on Bloomington South at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Seymour, they will host Bedford North Lawrence at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
