The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Apprentice Academy in their matchups with Sugar Creek: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Apprentice Academy still got an impressive performance from Radear Watson, who scored 24 points along with two steals and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Watson has scored all season.
Leading Sugar Creek to victory were Terry Watson and Aidan Gatewood. Watson scored 24 points along with two steals and two blocks, while Gatewood dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten rebounds, and 12 assists. That's the first time this season that Gatewood posted eight or more assists. Corde Harrison was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and three steals.
Apprentice Academy's loss was their 18th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Sugar Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Apprentice Academy will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Valor Preparatory Academy at 6:00 p.m. As for Sugar Creek, they will head out on the road to take on Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
