Chester and High Island are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Chester Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the High Island Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Chester suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Leggett 71-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Chester has suffered against Leggett since January 30, 2021.
While High Island couldn't quite beat Burkeville on Friday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 58-point loss they were dealt on Wednesday. High Island fell just short of Burkeville by a score of 40-38. High Island has not had much luck with Burkeville recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Cam'ron Douglas, who scored 11 points. James (Duece) Guidry was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Chester has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for High Island, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.
Chester ended up a good deal behind High Island when the teams last played back in December of 2023, losing 55-41. Can Chester avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
