The Master's Academy is 0-7 against Christian Family Academy since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Master's Academy Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Christian Family Academy Fire at 5:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, The Master's Academy strolled past Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy with points to spare, taking the game 54-40. The victory was just what The Master's Academy needed coming off of a 65-20 loss in their prior matchup.
The Master's Academy found their leader in underclassman Ben Davis, who scored 22 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Holiday, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Christian Family Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They secured a 63-59 W over Lake Lure Classical Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
The Master's Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Christian Family Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
The Master's Academy was dealt a bruising 65-20 loss at the hands of Christian Family Academy when the teams last played last Friday. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point The Master's Academy was down 35-12.
