The Classical Prep Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against American Collegiate Academy, falling 60-31. Classical Prep lost against the Rough Riders in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 62-11 score last time.
American Collegiate Academy was led to victory by Jamaal Caldwell and Tristan Townsend. Caldwell scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Townsend scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Caldwell continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Tyrese Lowe was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Classical Prep dropped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for American Collegiate Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.
Classical Prep will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Indian Rocks Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 176 points over their last three contests. As for American Collegiate Academy, they and the Crusaders will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
