The Jefferson Saints fell victim to the Strasburg Indians''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Indians 65-0. Jefferson has struggled against Strasburg recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Strasburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Thomas Devlin, who rushed for 169 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries. Devlin is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Martin, who threw for 91 yards and three touchdowns on only six passes.
Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Strasburg, the victory was the fifth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Jefferson will be playing in front of their home fans against Denver Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Denver Christian is ranked 178th, while Jefferson is ranked 190th). As for Strasburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Platte Canyon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Platte Canyon is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
