Classical extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Saturday, bumping them up to 8-0. They strolled past the Johnston Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 35-21. 35 seems to be a good number for the Purple as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Classical's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Darryl St Clermont, Leo Francois, and Jerea Brown, who each picked up one sack apiece.

As for Johnston, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. Their defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Johnston's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Yadier Grullon, who picked up 111 receiving yards and one score, and Ethan Archambeault, who threw for 235 yards and a pair of TDs. Grullon showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 52 yards.

Classical has already played their next matchup, a 41-0 victory against Chariho on the 7th. As for Johnston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 28-14 win against North Providence on the 7th.
