The Collins Titans pushed their score all the way to 65 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Scott.
Scott's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dylan Giffen led the charge by scoring 20 points along with six rebounds. Giffen continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jon Evans was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Collins now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Scott, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collins will finish 2023 at home by hosting Somerset at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Somerset presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Collins in Kentucky (Somerset is ranked 40th, while Collins is ranked 151st). Scott won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Aiken at 4:30 p.m. on December 22nd. One thing working in Aiken's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
