Vero Beach (Fla.) captured the lead on a
Jason pierre touchdown run with 1:00 left in the fourth quarter to defeat
Centennial (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) 37-33 on Saturday.
After nabbing the lead on a passing touchdown, the Eagles went into halftime with a 13-10 lead. The Indians scored the winning points with a pierre touchdown run that came in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring seven points in the third, Vero Beach still trailed by 10 points going into the fourth quarter. But 20 points in the fourth helped VB pull out the victory.
The Indians looked to be in trouble when they trailed by 17 points before coming back to beat Centennial.
The win brought Vero Beach's winning streak to four games.
Vero Beach (9-1) will play a non-conference game against Santaluces next week, while Centennial (2-6) will take on Port St. Lucie also in a non-conference game.
