Wayne had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Louisville on Thursday. The Blue Devils blew past the Lions 12-1. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Wayne got a massive performance out of Gavin Redden, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Parker Patefield was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Wayne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Louisville only posted an OBP of .263.

Wayne pushed their record up to 17-9 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Louisville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Wayne will face off against Auburn at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Louisville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
