Abbie Vlacich made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those stolen bases marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cade Wiley, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Caroline Dove was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, New Hampton School fell victim to Tilton School and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 9-0.

New Hampton School's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Proctor Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for New Hampton School, though, as they've been averaging only 2.8 strikeouts. Will Proctor Academy keep running through batters, or will the Huskies buck the trend?
