Even though the Granville Golden Horde scored an imposing 55 points on Monday, the Chatham Panthers still came out on top. Chatham snuck past the Golden Horde with a 60-55 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Chatham.
When it comes to explaining why Granville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Liam Farrell. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. Farrell continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. William Jennings was another key contributor, scoring two points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.
Chatham's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10. As for Granville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.
Chatham does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Granville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. North Warren Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully the Golden Horde like a good challenge.
