Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Owatonna). They took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 71-44 victory over the Mankato East Cougars. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Owatonna was led to victory by Maryn Pool and Jessica Fisher. Pool posted eight points and eight steals, while Fisher went 6 of 12 on her way to 12 points. Those eight steals gave Pool a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Olson, who had eight points and six rebounds.

Owatonna was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win was the fifth in a row for Owatonna, bringing their record for this year to 7-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points per game. As for Mankato East, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Owatonna will host John Marshall at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mankato East, they will take on Mayo at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th.
