The Stargate School Eagles had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 47-16 victory over Rocky Mountain Prep SMART on the road. Stargate School's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stargate School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaylen Hosfelt, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Hosfelt pulled down eight or more rebounds. Ava Ridgell was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Stargate School's victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-12. As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stargate School won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Peak to Peak at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Peak to Peak will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Stargate School surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, they will play host again and welcome DSST: Cedar, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
