Last Thursday, Katy Taylor's game was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They secured a 30-24 W over Jordan. The victory was all the more spectacular given Katy Taylor's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Jordan is ranked 151st).
Katy Taylor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dante Archie led the charge by gaining 123 total yards and a touchdown. Josiah Rodriguez got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Paetow's seven-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They put the hurt on Seven Lakes with a sharp 35-11 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.
Katy Taylor's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-3. As for Paetow, their win bumped their record up to 1-7.
Katy Taylor took a serious blow against Paetow when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 40-10. Can Katy Taylor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
