Pickens won the last time they met up with Southeast Whitfield County, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. Pickens were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Southeast Whitfield County 49-13. Followers of Pickens probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected five blowout victories.
Pickens' offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 28 points in the first half. Southeast Whitfield County countered with 7 points, leaving the score at 28-7 going into the half. Pickens put the match away in the third quarter with 21 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense. The victory bumped their record up to 6-0. The defeat dropped Southeast Whitfield County's record to 2-4.
Pickens will look to defend their home turf next week against Heritage at 7:30 PM. Heritage also lit up the scoreboard in their last game, so this could be a high-scoring game. As for Southeast Whitfield County, they will face off against Gilmer. Both of those teams have had a rocky road up to this point with three consecutive losses for Southeast Whitfield County and five for Gilmer.
