After flying high against the Riverside Christian Wranglers last Monday, the Taylor County Bulldogs came back down to earth. Taylor County took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Suwannee on Monday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Taylor County in their matchups with Suwannee: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the defeat, Taylor County saw an underclassman step up: Aniyah Ellis scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Irene Meler, who scored ten points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Suwannee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Janiah Mitchell, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Mitchell scored 15 or more points. Zjamyah Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Taylor County bumped their record down to 2-6 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Suwannee, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Taylor County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Franklin County at 5:00 p.m. on December 19th. Suwannee won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Crossroad Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Crossroad Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
