Escambia County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Jackson Aggies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Escambia County posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 63-33 win over T.R. Miller at home. Given Escambia County's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while T.R. Miller is ranked 317th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cleo Bolar jr. was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Stephen Williams was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Jackson entered their tilt with Satsuma with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Jackson simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Satsuma 68-27 on the road.
Escambia County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Jackson, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Escambia County came up short against Jackson in their previous meeting on Friday, falling 48-44. Can Escambia County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
