The Medfield Warriors will face off against the Dedham Marauders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Medfield's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three contests, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Friday just wasn't the day for Medfield's offense. They lost 17-0 to North Attleborough on Friday.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dedham, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Millis with a sharp 10-2 win on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Marauders needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Julia Walsh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 6.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liana Florio, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joslyn Roberts, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Dedham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millis only posted a batting average of .115.
The victory got Dedham back to even at 3-3. As for Medfield, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Medfield has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Dedham struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Medfield beat Dedham 9-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Marauders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
