Council Rock South is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Abington on Wednesday as Council Rock South made off with a 10-0 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Golden Hawks with their most commanding win of the season.
Council Rock South got a great performance from Jimmy Clark as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched.
At the plate, Billy O'Neill was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That run marked the first that he scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen McLean, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Council Rock South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Central Bucks East was able to grind out a solid victory over William Penn Charter on Tuesday, taking the game 14-11. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by exactly three runs.
Michael Colbert looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
On the hitting side, Chase Fulford and Nolan Behm did most of the damage at the plate: Fulford scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Behm went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits Behm has posted since back in April of 2024. Jack Thompson was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Central Bucks East has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.0 runs this season. As for Council Rock South, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
Council Rock South couldn't quite finish off Central Bucks East in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Council Rock South avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
