The Noblesville Millers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against Pendleton Heights by a score of 62-49. Given Noblesville's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Pendleton Heights is ranked 67th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Noblesville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Shoemaker led the charge by scoring 29 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shoemaker has scored all season. Reagan Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven assists and three steals.
Despite the loss, Pendleton Heights still got an impressive performance from Kaycie Warfel, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That was a full 42.9% of Pendleton Heights' points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Jones, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Noblesville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Pendleton Heights, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-9.
Noblesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pendleton Heights will take on Muncie Central at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Muncie Central is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
