The MICDS Rams put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They pulled ahead with a 61-60 photo finish over Central. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Jobe Bryant, who scored 32 points along with seven rebounds. Bryant is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Caden Casey, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
MICDS's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for Central, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-3.
MICDS will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mater Dei focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five last Tuesday. Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. One thing working in Arcadia Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
