East Laurens is 2-8 against Washington County since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The East Laurens Falcons will be playing at home against the Washington County Golden Hawks at 7:30 p.m. East Laurens knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Washington County likes a good challenge.
East Laurens is returning to their home court after beating Treutlen on theirs, despite the fact Treutlen has dominated at home this season. East Laurens came out on top in a nail-biter against Treutlen on Friday, sneaking past 78-75. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Vikings are ranked 350th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Tylan Snead, who dropped a triple-double with 20 points, 15 boards, and ten assists. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least 20 points. Skyler Snead was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds.
East Laurens smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Washington County entered their tilt with Central on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Chargers 71-57.
East Laurens better focus on containing Brashod Heggs and Zion Cordy as the pair were huge in Washington County's win. Heggs went 8 of 12 to rack up 17 points and six assists, while Cordy went 5 for 7 en route to 17 points. Thanks to that strong game, Cordy now owns an excellent 40.4% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Justin Johnson, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 12 points.
Washington County's victory bumped their record up to 10-16. As for East Laurens, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: East Laurens has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Washington County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
East Laurens was able to grind out a solid win over Washington County in their previous meeting on Thursday, winning 61-48. Does East Laurens have another victory up their sleeve, or will Washington County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
