Shaker is 2-8 against Saratoga Springs since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Shaker Bison will head out on the road to face off against the Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Shaker focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
Shaker has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. The matchup between Shaker and Our Lady of Lourdes wasn't particularly close, with Shaker falling 68-50. Shaker has not had much luck with Our Lady of Lourdes recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Shaker's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jayla Geter, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds, and Sofia Lanni who scored nine points along with five rebounds. Sierra Carter was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, Saratoga Springs' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 63-54 to Shenendehowa. While losing is never fun, Saratoga Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Shenendehowa is ranked 11th).
Shaker's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. As for Saratoga Springs, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-10.
Shaker came up short against Saratoga Springs in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 58-48. Can Shaker avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
