Providence Academy has gone 9-1 against St. Paul Academy-Summit recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Providence Academy has 11 straight victories, St. Paul Academy-Summit has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Providence Academy's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when Blake hitters got past them. The Lions came out on top against the Bears by a score of 14-10 on Monday.

Romeo Sweet made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sweet was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabriel Nathe, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joe Berghult, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Providence Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, St. Paul Academy-Summit lost 14-2 to New Life Academy on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Spartans have suffered against the Eagles since April 11, 2015.
Providence Academy's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for St. Paul Academy-Summit, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Everything went Providence Academy's way against St. Paul Academy-Summit in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Providence Academy made off with a 15-0 win. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
