Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Bishop's Fourth in Last Five Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Escondido Charter, Bishop was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over Foothills Christian. For Bishop's, this counts as revenge for the 6-3 victory Foothills Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Jessica Yao spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bailey Brightenburg, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Nora Wiese was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Bishop's has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season. As for Foothills Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Bishop's will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Tri-City Christian at 4:00 p.m. The Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Foothills Christian, they will take on Santa Fe Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
