Suitland has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Flowers Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Suitland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Jaguars are ranked 78th).
Last Tuesday, Suitland was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-47 to the Bulldogs.
Meanwhile, Flowers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Wise by a score of 67-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Suitland dropped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Flowers, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
Suitland was taken down by the Jaguars 85-39 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Flowers' Tyrell Bowles, who scored 24 points along with four steals and three blocks. Now that Suitland knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
