After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cardinal Newman, the Somerset College Prep Academy Spartans were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They walked away with a 73-61 win over Greenacres Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Somerset College Prep Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Terrance Dickson, who scored 19 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Jayvis Chitolie, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Defeat or not, Greenacres Christian got some senior leadership from David Mine who scored 23 points along with 9 rebounds and Joshua Barthelamy who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Barthelamy scored a full 32.8% of Greenacres Christian's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Corey Antoine was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 7 assists.
The victory got Somerset College Prep Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Greenacres Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerset College Prep Academy will face off against Morningside Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenacres Christian is on the road again on Thursday and play against Oxbridge Academy at 5:30 p.m. on November 30th. Hopefully Oxbridge Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
