After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Morgan, South Summit was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Ogden Tigers 18-7. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.
South Summit got a massive performance out of Mariah Bowen, who scored four runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Bowen has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Broadbent, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
South Summit was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
South Summit's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Ogden, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.
Coincidentally, South Summit and Ogden will both be playing Union the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
