Monroe typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Forest Hills proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Monroe Redhawks 77-53. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Forest Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leyah Melton led the charge by going 8-for-18 on her way to 22 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. Melton continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Nyjaya Wingo was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to eight steals and six boards.

Forest Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 39 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Monroe lost, don't look at Janiyah Boyd. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 47.2% of Monroe's points, marking the 15th time in a row Boyd has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dezire Hailey, who had four points and 18 boards.

Forest Hills is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points over those games. As for Monroe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-6.

Forest Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monroe, they will challenge Central Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Monroe is facing Central Academy at the right time seeing as Central Academy is stuck on a 21-game losing streak.
