Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Champaign Central

Centennial came into Friday's game looking for another win against Champaign Central, but Chris Bush wouldn't allow it. The Champaign Central Maroons walked away with a 75-62 victory over the Centennial Chargers on Friday thanks in part to Bush, who went 8 of 18 en route to 27 points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in November of 2024.

The win was the third in a row for Champaign Central, bringing their record for this year to 11-6. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 33.5% in those games and 23.5% outside of them. As for Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-9.

Champaign Central will challenge Carbondale at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Champaign Central is facing Carbondale at the right time seeing as Carbondale is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. Centennial has already played their next contest, a 60-59 victory against Mahomet-Seymour on the 18th.
