The Lucas Cubs have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Clear Fork Colts at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Lucas knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Clear Fork likes a good challenge.
Lucas pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 72-55 fall against Willard. Lucas has not had much luck with Willard recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Aidan Culler, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Logan Toms was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Clear Fork had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 49-34 victory over Highland on Friday. The win was just what Clear Fork needed coming off of a 91-45 loss in their prior game.
Lucas' defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-4. As for Clear Fork, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
Lucas came out on top in a nail-biter against Clear Fork in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, sneaking past 52-50. Will Lucas repeat their success, or does Clear Fork have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
