Braxton Pickett made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Gunnison Valley is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise. Pickett was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
In other batting news, Daxton Knudsen was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, North Summit came up short against Ben Lomond on Friday and fell 5-2.
North Summit saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eddie Bromley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Gunnison Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like North Summit struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
