East Central has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The East Central Cardinals and the Grove Ridgerunners will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. East Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Grove is ranked 110th).
Last Saturday, East Central was able to grind out a solid win over Victory Christian, taking the game 50-42.
Meanwhile, Grove strolled past Cascia Hall with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 47-30.
East Central's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
East Central came up short against Grove when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 38-29. Can East Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
