They had to suffer through a rough 57-11 loss at the hands of Hebrew Academy. While losing is never fun, Don Soffer Aventura can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 587th, while the Warriors are ranked 133rd).
Despite the loss, Don Soffer Aventura still got an impressive performance from Liana Kozko, who scored nine points. That was a full 81.8% of Don Soffer Aventura's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Don Soffer Aventura has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Hebrew Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Don Soffer Aventura will take on the Sharks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Avant Garde Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Hebrew Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Sharks at 5:00 p.m. on February 1st.
