Riverside saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Skipper, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Skipper has become a key player for the Generals: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-9 otherwise. Rylan Covington also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, ED White was able to grind out a solid victory over Harvest Community on Tuesday, taking the game 6-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Commanders.
Austin Reyes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jamaal Wright was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenai Wilkins, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for ED White, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Riverside has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like ED White struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Riverside might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from ED White when the teams last played back in February. Can the Generals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
