The Pleasant Valley Vikings will take on the Enterprise Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pleasant Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season.
Pleasant Valley is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Inderkum just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were dealt an 83-48 defeat at the hands of the Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 511th, while the Tigers are ranked 14th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Keith Thompson, who posted 11 points and six rebounds. Brody Moore was another key player, putting up six points.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Enterprise's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Red Bluff by a score of 47-45.
Loss or not, Enterprise got some senior leadership from Alijah Collins and Wes Ramirez. Collins went 6 of 13 on his way to 14 points, while Ramirez almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Ramirez has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times he's played.
Even though they lost, Enterprise smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.
Enterprise's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Pleasant Valley, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Pleasant Valley has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Enterprise struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.3 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Pleasant Valley couldn't quite finish off Enterprise when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 58-56. Will Pleasant Valley have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
