After a string of ten wins, the Ripon Indians's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 72-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ripon Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ripon in their matchups with Ripon Christian: they've now lost three in a row.
Ethan Baur and Logan Lefebvre certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Baur scored nine points along with three steals, while Lefebvre scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Landon Gillespie, who scored ten points.
Ripon Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Crivello, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Vander Veen, who scored 19 points.
Ripon's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6. As for Ripon Christian, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ripon will take on Livingston at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Livingston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 964th, while Ripon is ranked 355th). As for Ripon Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hughson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hughson is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
