The Ontario Christian Knights had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They slipped by Woodcrest Christian 74-73 on Tuesday. Given Ontario Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Woodcrest Christian is ranked 783rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cole Jones was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Schloeman, who scored eight points along with seven steals.
Ontario Christian's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Woodcrest Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season.
Ontario Christian will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Linfield Christian at 7:30 p.m. As for Woodcrest Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Arrowhead Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Arrowhead Christian is on a six-game streak of home wins, Woodcrest Christian a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
