SCISA A Region I recap Oct. 3, 2012
Bible Baptist moved up to 145 from 345 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in SCISA A Region I. A 34-14 win over Palmetto Christian Academy helped the Braves improve their standing.
Holly Hill Academy and Dillon Christian played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Holly Hill Academy eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory.
St. Andrew's's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nate Mayo threw for 59 and one touchdown and Sascha Tymchyshyn had 40 yards receiving. On the ground Wright Wallace chipped in 119 yards. Brandon Miller helped St. Andrew's' passing attack out by catching one ball for 17 yards.
St. Andrew's' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Mayo has thrown for 415 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Miller has six catches for 236 yards. Wallace leads the league in rushing with 546 yards.
A big matchup in SCISA A Region I this week will be when the Lions take on the Raiders. St. Andrew's is in fourth place, while Holly Hill Academy is in third place.
Colleton Prep Academy led the league in scoring this week after putting up 63 points on Dorchester Academy.
