Central Christian is 9-1 against Aletheia Christian Academy since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Last Tuesday, Central Christian made easy work of Atmore Christian and carried off a 21-3 victory. The Saints have beaten the Rams the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Rams has come to flipping the script.
Khloe Callaway was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Lintz, who scored four runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Central Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in seven consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Aletheia Christian Academy waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by seven runs or more this season.
Summer Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She also put up three hits, which were her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Katelyn Davis and Shelby Carmack did most of the damage at the plate: Davis scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Carmack scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Davis also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Allie Reeder was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
The victory got Central Christian back to even at 1-1. As for Aletheia Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Everything went Central Christian's way against Aletheia Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Central Christian made off with a 25-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
