The Beaver Bobcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Mohawk Area Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Beaver came out on top against Hickory on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Bobcats never let the Hornets get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Bobcats as they're now sitting on three straight.

Maddox Tanner and Josh Derringer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Tanner tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Derringer struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Tanner a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, Tanner got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Derringer got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Maze, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Derek Hughes was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mohawk Area). Everything went their way against Sto-Rox on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won four in a row.
Adam Deal looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kamren O'Lare was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Vinny Pezzuolo, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI and two runs.
Mohawk Area hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive matchups.
Beaver's record now sits at 10-4. As for Mohawk Area, their record is now 10-2.
Beaver might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Mohawk Area when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
