The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Monroe Academy in their matchups with Morgan Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
It was another big night for CJ Christopher Williams, who scored 32 points along with six steals and five assists for Morgan Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Morgan Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Milton Hand, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Monroe Academy's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Morgan Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.
Monroe Academy will be playing at home against Bessemer Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Morgan Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Dale Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
